Casey Kraychir, a freshman at 29 Palms high School, threw a new girl’s hammer freshman National record and California state record yesterday at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays.

Casey almost did not make the finals, but came alive on her fifth and sixth throws. With only one throw left, and one inch shy of Daniella Thu’s California state record of 164’02”, Casey unleashed an incredible throw of 170’2” to take sixth place at this years Mt Sac.
