VS Athletics' Kraychir Shatters National Freshman And California State Hammer Records

Casey Kraychir, a freshman at 29 Palms high School, threw a new girl’s hammer freshman National record and California state record yesterday at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays.

Casey almost did not make the finals, but came alive on her fifth and sixth throws. She first broke the girls national hammer freshman record on the fifth round with a throw of 164’1”, breaking Allison Horner’s existing record of 159’9” set two years ago. With only one throw left, and one inch shy of Daniella Thu’s California state record of 164’02”, Casey unleashed an incredible throw of 170’2” to take sixth place at this years Mt Sac. University Open women’s hammer division. Casey’s 170’2” also places her 15th on the all-time girls high school national list; and currently ranks her 3rd nationally. Complete article here.
