Shortly after last Halloween, Cal State San Marcos track and cross country coach Steve Scott bought two tubes of fake blood and some fake teeth, and soon put the props to work.Trailing a couple of his runners on a workout, the American mile record holder spread the red stuff across his face, applied the faux teeth, then banged his hand against a pole.With Scott writhing in supposed pain, one of his female runners cried, “Coach, are you OK? Are you OK?”
